Making History in Cobb County

Lisa Cupid took the oath of office on Thursday as Cobb County's first female and African-American Board Chairwoman. She will lead a board comprised of four female commissioners, another first in Cobb County! Chairwoman Cupid was sworn in by Judge Adele Grubbs.

Walker County Installs

First Board in 80 Years

Walker County conducted the swearing-in ceremony for its first Board of Commissioners in 80 years, having transitioned from the sole commissioner form of government. Walton County Chairman David Thompson Sworn In

Walton County Chairman David Thompson was joined by his wife, Suzanne, for his swearing-in on the porch of the historic courthouse. Judge Bruce Wright conducted the ceremony.

Dougherty County Adds COVID-19 Mitigation Measures to Chamber

Dougherty County Chamber now features partitions around each commissioner for COVID-19 safety. Dougherty County Commissioner Clinton Johnson, who is also an ACCG At-Large Representative, was sworn in this week along with some of his peers on the commission.

Public Safety Leads the Way with COVID-19 Vaccinations

Law enforcement officials across the state, like Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard, are leading by example by taking the COVID-19 vaccine.

Hats Off to Georgia's Election Officials and Poll Workers

More than 4.4 million Georgians cast ballots (including absentee, early and in person voting) in Georgia's Senate runoff election held this week. ACCG thanks election officials and poll workers across the state (like the ones pictured here in Gwinnett County) for their work during this election season.

About Christine: Christine has been in the Financial Services industry most of her career, with a brief stint as an elected town official before relocating to Savannah to be closer to her aging parents. Prior to joining ACCG, she was the Regional Sales Manager for Bank of America/Merrill Lynch. Christine is a huge animal lover with 11 cats and 2 dogs. She reports they recently adopted two lab mix rescues and they have been a great source of fun and companionship during this time of COVID. When not providing support to her jurisdictions, she enjoys spending time with her family, doing group craft projects and taking long walks with the puppies.
