New Disc Golf Course Opens in Jefferson County

Jefferson County Commission members and other community leaders recently cut the ribbon on the Ogeechee Crossing Park's 18-hole championship disc golf course. The course has two tee pads (long and short) and two active baskets on every hole and offers a great mix of wooded and open holes for a challenging experience.

Monroe County Commission Participates in Community Visioning Session

ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills and Deputy Legislative Director Todd Edwards presented Houston County Registration/Election Supervisor Debra Presswood with an ACCG Policy Appreciation Award this week for her work in assisting ACCG by providing feedback on elections bills during the 2021 legislative session.

Lowndes County Provides Mental Health Training for Public Safety

Lowndes County and Legacy Behavioral Health Services recently hosted a Mental Health First Aid training for local public safety personnel. The training, facilitated by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, focused on the unique experiences and needs public safety personnel must consider when responding to a possible mental health incident.

Newton County Commissioner Kicks Off Summer Workout Series

Newton County Commissioner Alana Sanders created the Newton Community Summer Workout Series. She started off the series teaching kickbox cardio. Other classes to be offered include zumba, spinning and more. All sessions are free and open to the public.

Nicole prides herself on being positive and enjoying all that life has to offer.
