ACCG Continues to Recognize Election Officials

with Policy Appreciation Awards

ACCG Deputy Legislative Director Todd Edwards recently recognized Bartow County Elections Director Joseph Kirk with a 2021 ACCG Policy Appreciation Award. This is the first year the Association has presented the Policy Appreciation Awards, which honors county election officials for their invaluable assistance to ACCG in understanding and acting upon the more than 90 election bills introduced during the 2021 legislative session. Kirk is one of three county election officials to receive this award.

Newton County Celebrates the Opening of New Skate Park

Newton County officials recently celebrated the opening of the county's first skate park. The ceremony took place at Denny Dobbs Park. This exciting new feature is a great addition to the recreational activities the park already offers. Skateboard enthusiasts of all ages were eager to spin their wheels.

Fulton County Leaders Celebrate the 100K COVID-19 Vaccination

Fulton County Commissioners Liz Hausmann and Bob Ellis along with Fulton County Manager Dick Anderson celebrated the 100K vaccine dose administered at the North Point Parkway Vaccination Site.

DeKalb County Solicitor General Donna Coleman-Stribling named Solicitor General of the Year

DeKalb County Solicitor General Donna Coleman-Stribling received the award for Solicitor General of the Year 2021 during the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council Annual Conference. According to a press release, Solicitor General Coleman-Stribling received this peer-nominated award for her stellar service to her DeKalb County community, her demonstrated commitment to advocacy for victims, and her unyielding commitment to justice for those she serves.
