Scenes from the 2020 Sine Die

The halls of the State Capital looked vastly different on the final day of the 2020 legislative session. Normally the halls are bustling with activity on this final day, but precautions taken to encourage social distancing and reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 changed the way legislators and lobbyists engaged for these final two weeks.

Forsyth County Celebrates Staff for Public Service Day

In honor of Public Service Day on June 23, Forsyth County highlighted the contributions of county staff by sharing the positive impact they are having on their community. Pictured below from left to right are employees from the county's Parks and Recreation Department, Animal Shelter, Roads and Bridges and Communications. ACCG also salutes the hard-working county employees and county officials across the state and thanks you for your service.

Franklin County Public Works Participates in Chainsaw Training

Franklin County Assistant Public Works Director Nick Johnson and his team participated in a very instructional day of chainsaw safety and procedures training. The class stressed safety and reminded the group of the importance of continuously sharpening their skills. The training was provided through the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Technical Assistance Program.

Rockdale County Uses Alternative Space to Hold Meeting Open to the Public

The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners held its first meeting open to the public since March this week. The meeting took place in the former sanctuary of a church the county acquired several years ago. Everyone was required to wear a mask (except when speaking) and to sit six feet apart.
