ACCG and GMA Hold Local Government Roundtable

ACCG and GMA brought together local government officials from the 9th Congressional District to meet with U.S. House of Representative Andrew Clyde. Topics of discussion included infrastructure, expanding broadband, mental health and affordable housing. County officials participating included: Lumpkin County Chairman Chris Dockery, Fannin County Chairman Jamie Hensley, White County Commissioner Edwin Nix, Union County Sole Commissioner Lamar Paris and ACCG Associate Legislative Director Kathleen Bowen.

Leadership Changes

for ACCG Insurance Programs

ACCG staff joined together to celebrate the career and recognize the retirement of ACCG Property and Casualty Insurance Program Director David Uhlman (pictured center), whose last day was May 28. Ashley Abercrombie (pictured far right), who has been serving as Deputy Director, has been named to succeed him.

Carroll County Commissioner Places Flags on Graves for Memorial Day

Carroll County District 4 Commissioner Steve Fuller, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, along with his son, Evan, and granddaughter, Angie, placed American flags on Veterans' graves at the Clem Cemetery in honor of Memorial Day.

Whitfield County Hosts Old Timers Shoot for Retired Law Enforcement Officers

Some 48 retired law enforcement officers from 14 agencies, representing more than 1,000 years of experience, recently returned to the Whitfield County Training Center and Firing Range for the annual Old Timers Shoot. For years, this event has enabled retirees to maintain their concealed carry permits. Adjustments were made last year as a result of COVID-19 restrictions; however the group was able to come together again this year.

Barrow County Opens

Courthouse Time Capsule

The Barrow County historic courthouse was erected in 1920, and county officials recently removed a time capsule that was placed on the cornerstone. While some of the newspapers and photographs included in the time capsule had disintegrated, they did find a City of Winder police badge, several coins, a Masonic Bible, the Masonic Order of Placing the Cornerstone and other items.

Lincoln County Seniors

Learning Computer Technology

Lincoln County seniors are getting the opportunity to learn some computer and technology skills, thanks to Faith Hill, the business and computer science teacher at Lincoln County Middle School.

About Ron: Ron previously worked in municipal government for 32 years. He also previously worked in the financial services field with several of the current regional client managers prior to the start of GEBCorp. Ron's passion is building a personal relationship with his clients and educating as many as possible about the retirement plans ACCG provides. Ron likes to spend as much time as he can with his wife, sons and friends. He has been married for 31 years and has two sons (Spencer 28 and Hayes 23) and two daughters-in-law.
