Lowndes County Unveils New Easter Decorations

The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners unveiled Easter decorations at the Historic Lowndes County Courthouse lawn for residents to enjoy. The decorations include an egg arch, several giant eggs located across the lawn, and egg photo stations. Each photo station creates an opportunity for residents and county officials to connect.

Whitfield County Administrator Recognized for His Contributions to the Community


At the 2024 Spring Georgia City-County Management Association (GCCMA) Conference, Whitfield County Administrator Robert "Bob" Sivick was honored for his exceptional contributions to the county. He received the esteemed 2024 Community Program Award for his successful establishment of the Whitfield-Murray Conasauga Community Addiction Recovery Center (CCARC).

Gwinnett County Youth Commission Visits the Capitol


The Gwinnett Youth Commission visited the capitol this week to engage with government leaders and learn about the legislative process in Georgia. ACCG Associate Director of Governmental Affairs Martha Revelo discussed ACCG's role in advocating for counties during the legislative session.

Monroe County Leaders Honored on Senate Floor During "Monroe County Day"

Monroe County leaders celebrated "Monroe County Day" on March 7, 2024, by visiting the Georgia State Capitol. Monroe County Chairman Greg Tapley was in attendance while county officials were honored from the Senate floor. Monroe County citizens were also invited to the Capitol to meet with state legislators during this special event.

Yancey Hosts Grading Class for

Bacon County Officials


Yancey Bros. Co., ACCG's oldest partner, teamed up with Bacon County to provide a three-day grading training course to the Bacon County Road Department. The training consisted of two classroom sessions and one on-site day where a current road grading project was facilitated.

Columbia County Animal Services Named GACA Animal Services Agency of the Year


Columbia County was recently awarded the Animal Services of the Year Award from the Georgia Animal Control Association (GACA). The prestigious award acknowledges Columbia County Animal Services' commitment and dedication to providing top-tier services, fostering a safer, more human environment for animals.

Effingham County Officials Connect with Senior Residents


Effingham County officials visited the Effingham County Senior Citizens Center to discuss the services their departments offer to seniors. The Effingham County Fire and Rescue Department emphasized the importance of fire safety, while the Effingham County clerk connected with the center's residents.

Banks County Receives ACCG-GSIWCF Cash Dividend Check


Banks County was one of many counties that benefited from being a member of the ACCG Insurance Programs. This week, the County was presented a cash dividend check that resulted from a surplus of funds in the ACCG – Group Self-Insurance Workers’ Compensation Fund (ACCG - GSIWCF).
