Bryan County Gets New Tree's at Local Park


Bryan County along with the Savannah Tree Foundation and the Coastal Tree Foundation and volunteers planted 32-trees around the baseball fields in Hendrix Park. The trees were all a mixture of native trees and will go a long way to replace the roughly 250 trees destroyed by the April 5 tornado.

Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Awarded International Accredited Status


Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES) has received Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) for meeting the criteria established through CFAI’s voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program. CCFES is the 14th Georgia fire department and the fourth county-based fire department to achieve this status in the state.

Glynn County Host Employee Fundraiser for United Way


This week Glynn County employees hosted a fundraiser for United Way. The Soup-er Bowl featured employees bringing their best soup recipes for a cook off and taste test. 14 entries were enjoyed by staff and other guests – with the winner being Mike Reynolds from the IT Dept with Chicken Gnocchi.

Lowndes County Commissioner Wins PepsiCo's 2023 Stronger Together Award


Lowndes County Commissioner Joyce Evans was recently awarded as one of PepsiCo's 2023 Stronger Together recipients during their Black History Month Program. The program recognized 11 local leaders who have made contributions to the Lowndes County community. Commissioner Evans was awarded for being a phenomenal leader and champion for Lowndes County and its constituents. 

Hall County Reveals New Eugene Brown Veterans Memorial


Hall County along with community partners at the American Legion - Post 7, Newtown Florist Club, E.E. Butler Steering Committee and Hall County Parks and Leisure officially unveiled the new Eugene Brown Veterans Memorial, which pays tribute to the those who fought and died for this country from Hall County's African American community. The memorial is located at the entrance to Butler Park, right next to the Lady Liberty statue, created by local artist Jane Taylor Art.
