County Officials Lay a Wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
A Decade of Paying Tribute
Last Sunday, ACCG President and Oglethorpe County Chairman Billy Pittard, his wife Missy, Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann and Forsyth County Commissioner Dennis Brown, who is a veteran of the Army, continued ACCG’s annual tradition of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. This year marked the tenth year that Georgia county officials have participated in the wreath-laying ceremony while in Washington, D.C. for the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference.

Camden County Receives Grant
for Two GCIP Summer Interns
The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation recently announced the counties receiving grants through Georgia County Internship Program. Camden County will put two interns to work this summer - one in the Board of Commissioners administrative office and the other for the Board of Elections & Registration.
Liberty County Legend
Bob Sprinkel Retires
Liberty County recently celebrated the retirement of Assistant County Administrator Bob Sprinkel, who retired after 18 years of service. ACCG also wishes Bob well and agrees as the banner proclaimed - the legend has retired!
Supporting Executive Session to Discuss Cybersecurity Issues
ACCG Deputy Legislative Director Todd Edwards and GMA Senior Governmental Relations Associate Charlotte Davis testified in support of HB 1049 in the House Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee.  
Sumter County Hits One
Out of the Park
Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department is nearing completion on a new lighted, covered batting cage area at the Sumter County Regional Park. This new facility is an asset to the community and will allow teams to get their work outs in, even in the event of inclement weather.
