Gov. Kemp Signs FY24 Budget in Bryan County



On Friday, May 5, 2023, Governor Brian Kemp signed the FY24 budget at the Hyundai Bryan County Megasite. The new budget includes pay raises for teachers and eligible state law enforcement. While at the megasite, Gov. Kemp also signed HB 408 to further strengthen Georgia’s status as the number one state for business.

Coweta County Recognizes National Correctional Officers and Employees Week


The Coweta County Board of Commissioners signed a proclamation declaring the week of May 7-13 as Correctional Officers and Employees Week. Coweta County introduced this proclamation to bring awareness to how hard the local correctional officers and employees work on behalf of their county.

Three Sign-On to Whitfield County Fire


Whitfield County is finding success through its Pathway Program. The hands-on firefighting course is designed to train the recruit for a career in fire service using methods that enhance cognitive skills through field exercises and classroom learning. Three students from local Whitfield County High Schools have recently completed the program and have been hired on to work at the Whitfield County Fire post graduation.

Forsyth County Proclaims May as Mental Health Awareness Month


The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners proclaimed May 2023 as Mental Health Awareness Month, urging all citizens to prioritize mental health. The proclamation also encouraged citizens to reach out to local resources for mental health needs.

Local Artist's Work on Display in ACCG Office


Georgia sculptor and ceramicist Rachel Zaudke Wilkins is the talent behind the newly hung artwork in ACCG's renovated office space. Zaudke Wilkins is a Cobb County resident and her latest piece was inspired by Georgia's infamous clay, agriculture, and biodiversity. Each county piece in the overall artwork was handcrafted from clay sourced from a multigenerational family business in Lizella (Bibb and Crawford counties).
