2022 - 2023 ACCG Board of Managers Installed at Annual Conference
Congratulations to the individuals who were installed to serve as the 2022-2023 ACCG Board of Managers during the Annual Conference. The officers for the coming year, pictured with ACCG Executive Director Dave Wills, include Dougherty County Commissioner and 3rd Vice President Clinton Johnson; Tift County Commissioner and President Melissa Hughes; Baldwin County Chairman and 1st Vice President Henry Craig; and Toombs County Chairman and 2nd Vice President David Sikes. Domes Installed on
County Courthouses
The dome was recently placed on the new Toombs County Courthouse. The county is replacing the courthouse built in 1964 with a a 55,000-square foot, three-story building and also renovating the sheriff's office and expanding the detention center.

Cherokee County Receives Transportation Infrastructure Bank Funds
Cherokee County leadership recently was invited to the State Capitol for the announcement of the state's $17 million investment in transportation infrastructure through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank. The county was awarded $3.9 million for Phase 1 of the Technology Ridge Parkway project, which is a partnership between the city of Canton, the Cherokee Office of Economic Development and Cherokee County.
New Medical Clinic Opens
in Harris County
Harris County recently celebrated the opening of a new Mercer Medical Clinic. This new facility, operated by the Mercer University School of Medicine, offers on-site primary care services including x-rays, lab testing, immunizations, telehealth and more. The community improvement project was a joint partnership among the Board of Commissioners, the Board of Education, Mercer University School of Medicine, and countless public donations. Mercer Medical leased the county's former library and renovated the facility.
Chattooga County Launches River Fest
The Chattooga County Commissioner's office and the Chattooga County River group recently held its first annual Chattooga County River Fest. The purpose of this event was to bring awareness to the Chattooga River for outdoor recreation, conservation and economic development in the county.
Colquitt County Business Receives
State Small Business
"Rock Star" Recognition
Colquitt County business, EAGLECRAFT Door Inc., was named a 2022 Small Business Rockstar by the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Economic Developers Association. A local event was held by the Moultrie-Colquitt County Development Authority announcing the award. County Administrator Chas Cannon presented a proclamation on behalf of the Board of Commissioners.
