Cobb County Staff Members Inducted Into GRPA Hall of Fame

Cobb County Deputy Manager Jimmy Gisi and former Cobb PARKS Director Eddie Canon were recently honored at the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) annual meeting. Both Canon and Gisi were inducted into the GRPA Hall of Fame for their instrumental work in forming the Cobb County PARKS Department and Recreation Programs.

Ben Hill County Partners with Sen. Warnock to Host Community Resource Connection Day

Ben Hill County leaders teamed up with Sen. Raphael Warnock's office to host the inaugural Community Resource Connection Day (CRCD). CRCD aims to bridge the gap between federal resources and communities across the state. Residents participated in educational workshops, learned more about federal resources available to rural communities and addressed community needs and concerns.

Gwinnett County Holds Veterans Day Ceremony

During Veterans Day, Gwinnett County hosted its annual ceremony to honor local veterans. This year, Superior Court Judge Angela Duncan, an Army veteran, served as the keynote speaker.

White County Celebrates Groundbreaking for Yonah Preserve Recreation and Community Center

The White County Board of Commissioners proudly announced the successful ground-breaking ceremony for the Yonah Preserve Recreation and Community Center. The new facility will feature a two-court gym, outdoor pavilion, and splash pad.

Fayette County Hosts Georgia Librarians for Performer's Showcase

The Fayette County Library hosted librarians from across the state for a performer's showcase. The showcase featured more than two dozen performers with a variety of specialties. Attendees enjoyed a display of music, dance, live animals, cursive writing, and juggling acts which they can consider bringing to their libraries.

ACCG's Georgia County Government Magazine Wins Highest Honor in 2023 MarComm Awards

ACCG's Georgia County Government magazine received the highest honor of Platinum in the 2023 MarComm Awards. The MarComm Awards are a global competition that acknowledges the creative and strategic contributions of professionals in various industries, including honoring magazines for their excellence in marketing and communication. The 2023 summer issue of the Georgia County Government magazine was submitted for judging during the award nomination process.

ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation Hosts 7th Annual Golf Tournament

The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation recently hosted its 7th Annual Civic Affairs Golf Tournament at the Georgia Club in Barrow County. More than 100 participants took to the greens during the golf tournament. All proceeds will go toward the Georgia County Internship Grant Program (GCIP). The grant application period for the 2024 GCIP program is now available. For more information, click here.
