That's A Wrap! 2022 Fall Regional Meetings Come to A Close

The ACCG Board of Managers and staff would like to thank all county officials who attended this year's Fall Regional Meetings. It was great reconnecting with the ACCG membership and state legislators while exploring different parts of the state. County officials are encouraged to share the 2023 Legislative Toolkit with their legislative delegations ahead of the upcoming session.

Elbert County officials pictured with Rep. Rob Leverett during the meeting in Athens-Clarke County. Rep. Leverett is a recent recipient of an ACCG Legislative Service Award for his work on HB 934 (Single County TSPLOST), which was an ACCG priority.

Sen. Blake Tillery addressed county officials at the Wayne County Regional Meeting. Sen. Tillery, a former Toombs County Chairman, shared with attendees the significance of relationship building between state and county elected officials.

Oconee County officials posed for a photo with Rep. Houston Gaines during the Athens-Clarke County Regional Meeting. Athens-Clarke County was the final stop on the Regional Meeting tour on Wednesday, November 16.

National Disability Employment Month Declared in Calhoun County

Rebel Helms from ASPIRE Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Services presented the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners with a Proclamation recognizing and commemorating October 2022 as the 77th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness month.

Chairman Conner Collins signed the Proclamation and calls upon all employers, schools, and other community organizations in Calhoun County to observe with appropriate programs and activities that will help advance this important message that people with disabilities add value to our workplaces and communities

Chattooga County to Support Local Businesses and Farms with ARPA Funds

Chattooga County will provide an economic boost to its community by offering funding to local businesses and farms. The funding is being made available through the county's share of ARPA dollars. Keep Cherokee Beautiful Receives Affiliate Certification from Keep America Beautiful, Inc.

Officials from Keep Georgia Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, Inc., welcomed Cherokee County to its expanding community-based Network of Affiliates with the certification of Keep Cherokee Beautiful. The affiliation process included the formation of a community team, attendance to numerous training events, and the development of an action plan. 

ACCG Communications Team Attends Quarterly Government Communicators Meeting

ACCG Communications team members attended a quarterly Government Communicators meeting with county and city public information officers and other local government communications professionals. These meetings are a joint a venture between the communications teams at ACCG and the Georgia Municipal Association. Attendees learned tips on how to prioritize their wellbeing and about career advancement tools for PR pros.
