Henry County E-911 Officers Return Home After Assisting with Hurricane Helene Recovery in North Carolina

Henry County E-911 Communications Officers Savanna Mondy and Caitlyn Canup spent the past two weeks working in Asheville assisting with emergency response after the town was devastated by Hurricane Helene. The collaboration is part of the Telecommunications Emergency Response Taskforce.

International Journalists Visit Fulton County Ahead of Nov. 5 General Election


Journalists from around the world visited Fulton County this week to cover the 2024 election. County officials spoke with reporters from every continent except Antarctica. Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts and others from the county's leadership team greeted many of the journalists during their pre-election process.

Rockdale County Hosts Transportation Summit


The Rockdale County Department of Transportation recently hosted its annual Transportation Summit, which creates a collaborative platform for local, state, and federal partners to address Rockdale County’s needs and explore potential project funding to improve and expand its roadways.  A key partner this year was the Georgia Department of Transportation, which shared insights into upcoming projects.

ACCG Staff Attends ARC State of the Region Breakfast

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) hosted the 2024 State of the Region event with this year’s theme, “The Power of Connection,” bringing together influential leaders and decision makers to discuss critical challenges and opportunities facing the region. ACCG Associate Director of Governmental Affairs Martha Revelo attended the event and connected with many county and state leaders.

Nominations Welcome for the 2025 Georgia County Excellence Awards

ACCG and Georgia Trend are once again hosting the Georgia County Excellence Awards. Counties that have taken innovative and cost-effective approaches to solving local issues with local programs and initiatives are encouraged to apply.
