Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office Employee Leads Successful Donation

Drive for Hurricane Helene Victims

Inspired by her upbringing as the daughter of a first responder, Carli Redmond, an employee of the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, organized a successful donation drive for the victims of Hurricane Helene. With support from local businesses, the initiative resulted in five trailers filled with essential supplies, showcasing the compassion and unity of the Dalton-Whitfield community in times of need.

Gwinnett County Commissioner Receives LLA Specialty Track Certificate

Director Jeff Christie presented Gwinnett County Commissioner Ben Ku with his Lifelong Learning Academy (LLA) Specialty Track certificate during a recent Gwinnett County Board of Commission meeting. The award recognizes Ku's commitment to ongoing professional development.

Paulding County Fire Chief Retires After Three Decades of Service


After 31 years of dedicated service, Chief Joey Pelfrey retired on October 11 from Paulding County Fire & Rescue, where he began as a volunteer in 1993 and became one of the department's first paid firefighters in 1996. Pelfrey advanced through the ranks to become Chief in 2014, showing a strong commitment to excellence and emphasizing the importance of frontline personnel in emergency response.

GCIP Internship Leads to Full-time Role in Gwinnett County

 

Raul Puentes began his journey in county government through an internship in Gwinnett County's Department of Water Resources. During his internship, he analyzed water consumption data from local schools and daycares, which led to critical insights for improving sewer capacity and optimizing the county's wastewater system, and a full-time role as a business analyst with Gwinnett County.

Glynn County Students Experience Day in the Life of County Operations


High School students from Glynn Academy and Brunswick High School recently participated in Government Immersion Day held at the Glynn County Government offices. Students met with various departments and worked through an exercise on storm preparedness with the Glynn County Emergency Management Agency.

Baldwin County Holds Scrap Tire Amnesty Day

 

Baldwin County hosted a Scrap Tire Amnesty Day at the County Road Department, with volunteers from Georgia Military College assisting. The event, supported by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, accepted various types of tires, including passenger, truck, and large off-the-road tires.
