Floyd County Drives Engagement with 31 Days of Halloween


In the spirit of Halloween, Floyd County has had a spooky friend visiting local county landmarks. Locations have included the "Creel House" from Stanger Things, the Ford Buildings at Berry College, and the Floyd County Historic Courthouse. Floyd County has seen increased engagement on social media, with residents often guessing where the Halloween character will visit next.

Glynn County Hosts Trunk or Treat Event


Glynn County hosted a Trunk or Treat event at the Glynn County Public Safety Complex. Multiple agencies participated including local law enforcement, emergency management agencies, local fire and EMS, county administration staff, Georgia State Patrol, and more.

Lowndes County Names New 911 Director


Tonia Davis has been named Director of Lowndes County 911 after the retirement of former Director Danny Weeks. Davis has served as the Assistant Director for Lowndes County 911 for the past nine years and has worked in the department for 23 years.


“My primary goal is to continue to build on the foundation of excellence that the leaders have set before me,” said Tonya Davis, Director of Lowndes County 911. “I have a strong desire to keep our organization grounded in its primary purpose while seeing us move into a true next-generation 911 environment. This environment will improve the speed, reliability, and interoperability of emergency communications.”

Baldwin County Holds Ribbon Cutting for New Disc Golf Course


The Baldwin County community celebrated the opening of a disc golf course with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The course, located at Walter B. Williams Park, adds an additional activity to the already adventurous park which houses volleyball and pickleball courts.

Sumter County Departments Join Forces to Promote the Drug LiveSmart Free Campaign


The Sumter County Board of Commissioners and Sheriff’s Office participated in Red Ribbon Week. During Red Ribbon Week, the Sheriff's office actively encouraged residents to not use drugs or alcohol. Sumter County also had the opportunity to educate the community on the dangers of drugs and alcohol throughout the week.
