Dawson County Celebrates Groundbreaking of

Future E911/Emergency Operations Center

Dawson County recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its new E911/Emergency Operation Center (EOC) which will feature a dispatch room, an EOC room, quiet spaces for staff to decompress and other essential office spaces and equipment. Currently, the county does not have a designated E911/EOC facility, so the construction of this 5,087-square-foot facility will allow first responders to better serve the residents in the community.

Sumter EMC Foundation Continues to Make a Difference in Cusseta - Chattahoochee County


The Sumter Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) Foundation recently made a significant impact in Cusseta -Chattahoochee County by awarding nine grants totaling over $39,000 to local organizations. These funds aim to enhance the quality of life for residents in Sumter EMC’s service territory. 

Henry County Celebrates Fall Season with Halloween Events


Henry County is stepping into fall with a series of spooky events. From the Nightmares at Nash Farm haunted house to a scarecrow contest, the Henry County community is in for a treat.

From GCIP Intern to Full Time Employee

 

Brianna Blige, a recent marketing graduate, interned with Chatham County’s Human Resources Department, where she focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. She helped research and implement strategies for diversity goals and worked alongside human resources to collect diversity metrics and research best practices. Brianna now works as a public relations specialist for the District Attorney’s Office.

ACCG and GMA Co-Host 2024 Annual Government Communicators Conference


More than 40 county and city communications professionals attended the ACCG-GMA 2024 Government Communicators Conference in Athens-Clarke County. Over three days, attendees networked, participated in workshops, and heard from subject-matter experts on various topics that will support them in their role.

Yvette Jones, Douglas County chief communications officer, shared tips and strategies for communicating through adverse situations impacting your government's reputation.

Jason Harwell, Athens-Clarke County visual communications coordinator, offered a rapid-fire session on eight standard graphic design rules that work every time.

Cherokee County Recreation and Parks Director Receives Distinguished Professional Award

 

Cherokee County Recreation and Parks Director Jay Worley received the 2024 GRPA District 5 Distinguished Professional Award, the highest honor from the Georgia Recreation & Parks Association (GRPA), during the annual District Five Awards Banquet. He was recognized for his 25 years of service and significant contributions to the community and GRPA.
