Georgia County Officials Visit Washington D.C.

The White House hosted over 40 elected officials and community leaders from Georgia at the White House “Communities in Action: Building a Better Georgia” event. The Biden-Harris Administration created the Communities in Action series to highlight the impact of various community programs for elected officials and community leaders across the country to share real-life experiences. During the forum leaders discussed the benefits and impacts of the American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, among other topics.

City and County Officials Attend a Roundtable with Congressman Allen

County officials and ACCG staff attended a joint city-county roundtable discussion in Twin City with Congressman Rick Allen. The roundtable provided a platform for local leaders to discuss federal priorities. ACCG County Consulting Services Manager Bill Twomey, ACCG Second Vice President & Toombs County Chairman David Sikes, Treutlen County Chairman Lance Hooks and Emanuel County Chairman Jim Sherrod were present.

All Smiles at the 2022 ACCG Civic Affairs Golf Tournament

This past Monday, several golf players came out to swing for a cause at the 6th Annual ACCG Civic Affairs Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund the Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP).

Clayton County Hosts Uniform Donation Drive

Clayton County District 1 Commissioner Dr. Alieka Anderson recently hosted a uniform drive for students at Northcutt Elementary. View the Clayton County youtube video to learn more about the uniform drive.

Paulding County Holds 5th Annual Rides for Wishes Event

The 5th Annual Paulding County Rides for Wishes Event saw 50 plus riders and raised over $10,000 for Make-A-Wish® Georgia this year, with all money raised going to Wish Kids in Paulding. The county event has granted 14 Wishes this year for Paulding County Kids, with currently 20 more on the Make-A-Wish® Georgia list. The event has raised over $61,000 during the five-years.

Fayette County Celebrates Global Diversity 

In honor of Global Diversity Awareness Month, the Fayette County Public Library hosted an after-hours cultural celebration. Over 150 guests had an opportunity to travel to selected countries inside of the library and enjoy a skit performed by a local high school on diversity. Guests experienced the traditional sounds, tastes and dance from the different countries.

Coweta County Announces NYCO American Expansion

Coweta County is excited to announce that NYCO America is kicking off their manufacturing facility expansion project in the Shenandoah Industrial Park. The NYCO team came out for the project kickoff and are pictured with Coweta County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Blackburn, County Administrator Michael Fouts and Development Authority President Sarah Jacobs. To read more on the development, click here.
