Coweta County Gets
into the Braves Spirit
Coweta County employees showed their support for the hometown team by dressing up in Atlanta Braves gear on Thursday. The Braves return to Atlanta for the rest of the National League Championship Series this weekend with the next game set for Saturday night at 5:08 p.m.
ACCG Civic Affairs Golf Tournament Raises More than $86,000
The ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation Golf Tournament was held this week at Bears Best Atlanta in Gwinnett County. Thanks to support from sponsors and golfers, the tournament raised more than $86,000. This funding will be used primarily for the Georgia County Internship Program. The grant application for counties to apply for intern funding is open through December 17, 2021. ACCG Policy Council Considers Recommendations
for Legislative Priorities
The ACCG Policy Council met in Atlanta this week to consider the legislative recommendations from ACCG's Policy Committees which will comprise the 2022 ACCG Legislative Agenda. County voting delegates will vote on which items will become legislative priorities during Saturday's Business Session at the upcoming ACCG County Reconnect Conference. Governor Kemp Attends Groundbreaking
of $220 Million Solar Facility in Lee County
Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp joined state and local officials and representatives from Silicon Ranch Corporation for a groundbreaking of the 250-megawatt DeSoto Solar Farm in Lee County. The company will invest more than $220 million over the next two to three years and plans to hire more than 400 craft workers to build the facility over the next twelve months. The first phase wil provide power to Walton EMC as part of the electric utility's agreement to provide clean, renewable energy to Facebook's datacenter in Newton County.
Henry County Holds Pink Out to Mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Henry County recently held a "Pink Out" to bring attention to October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pictured here are members of the Henry County Tax Commissioner's Office. ACCG joins counties across the state in encouraging you to remind the women in your life that early detection and treatment is the best way to prevent and beat breast cancer.
