County Leaders Attend the 2024 Legislative Leadership Conference

ACCG hosted more than 200 county officials at this year's Legislative Leadership Conference in Athens-Clarke County. During the conference, the ACCG membership approved the association's 2025 Policy Agenda and Legislative Priorities. The top three Legislative Priorities for 2025 are Implementation of Next Generation 911 System, House Bill 581 (2024) Cleanup, and Truck Weight Increase/LMIG.

Gov. Brian Kemp shared remarks about the state and county partnership regarding Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.

Team Paulding Comes Together for Hurricane Helene Relief

 

When Paulding County leaders organized a supply drive for those affected by Hurricane Helene, the community united in an incredible show of support, filling three trucks and a plane with water, while several residents transported supplies on their own trailers. The joint effort was a true demonstration of neighbors helping neighbors and standing together in times of need.

GCIP Intern Gets Creative in Rockdale County

 

Xiaofan Mu, a computer sciences student at Emory University, interned with Rockdale County's planning and development department. During her internship, she developed the PND Panda community outreach program which included educational seminars, "how to" software, and an online game for young students to learn about county operations.

Columbus-Muscogee County Leaders Walk for A Great Cause


Columbus-Muscogee County Councilwoman and ACCG Board Member Toyia Tucker, Councilor Joanne Cogle, and Sheriff Greg Countryman participated in the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The event raised more than $66,000 for the important cause.

Creating Memories in Cusseta-Chattahoochee County


Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Parks and Recreation Director Mordie Askew and Family Connections Coordinator Christina Young enjoyed a wonderful morning and early afternoon with the Chattahoochee County Senior Group at the Georgia National Fair. The day was filled with fellowship, laughter, and delightful food, creating cherished memories for all.
