State Leaders Discuss Hurricane Helene Recovery Efforts in Berrien County

Gov. Brian Kemp, GEMA Director James Stallings, Congressman Austin Scott, and others spoke in Berrien County, announcing the inclusion of 30 additional counties in the Presidential Declaration, bringing the potential total to more than 75. They plan to hold several local meetings across the affected areas to address community needs and concerns.

Cusseta-Chattahoochee County Animals Find 'Furever' Homes During Pet Adoption Day


Ft. Moore Stray Facility Director Lou Beck, volunteer SFC Sandra Renforth, and kennel tech Heather Lorenz participated in Pet Adoption Day at the Governor’s Mansion, organized by First Lady Marty Kemp in collaboration with humane societies and shelters across Georgia. The event kicked off with the swift adoption of Lucille, a dog rescued along with her four puppies from an abandoned home, who had been fostered by SFC Renforth until finding her forever home.

GCIP Intern Hard at Work in Meriwether County

 

Stacey Mitchell, a business administration student at Strayer University, interned with the tax assessor’s office in Meriwether County where she worked closely with the chief appraiser on several key projects. Her responsibilities included preparing for the release of 2024 digest values, handling appeals and inquiries, conducting research on land values, issuing exemptions, and assisting with court matters.

Walton County Employees Say Aloha to Good Health


Walton County continues to prioritize employee health by offering top resources for healthy lifestyles, including an annual Employee Health and Benefits Fair. At this year's luau-themed health fair, employees participated in health screenings like flu shots and blood pressure checks and received valuable information from various vendors.

ACCG and GMA Host HB 581 Training Session in Fulton County


County and city leaders convened in Fulton County to hear from ACCG and GMA on the significant changes that HB 581 can bring to Georgia’s property and local sales tax systems if adopted by voters in the 2024 general election.
