Hancock County Starts Own EMS Service


Due to EMS services leaving Hancock County, commissioners decided to establish their own county-wide EMS service. After extensive planning and hiring of employees, the new EMS service opened on September 6, 2023.

Floyd County Hosts City-County Cleanup Day


Floyd County recently hosted Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful and County Employee Cleanup Day. The cleanup team consisted of county and city employees along with volunteers from a local Baptist church. The team collected eight bags of trash totaling 280 pounds.

ACCG and GMA Host Joint Policy Committee Meetings

The legislative policy councils of ACCG and the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) met in LaGrange/Troup County to discuss issues of mutual interest between Georgia’s counties and cities. On the day following the joint meeting, the ACCG Policy Council met to discuss policy objectives and recommend legislative priorities for inclusion in the Proposed 2024 ACCG Policy Agenda. The association’s membership will vote on the recommendations during the upcoming Legislative Leadership Conference.

2023 ACCG Legislative Leadership Conference - Registration Now Open

Registration is open now for the Legislative Leadership Conference. Join ACCG, your county colleagues, and state leaders on October 11-13 at the Jekyll Island Convention Center in Glynn County for the Association’s fall policy conference. Attend the LLC to ensure your county's concerns are considered when voting on the 2024 Proposed Policy Agenda and Legislative Priorities and to participate in several engaging educational opportunities.
