Forsyth County Firefighters Honor the Fallen Heroes of 9/11

Forsyth County Fire Department crews and explorers participated in the 2024 VO2 9.11 Stair Climb in honor of the fallen heroes who gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. By climbing 110 stories, they honored the memory of the brave individuals who were tragically lost, paying tribute to their heroism and ensuring their legacy of courage and resilience endures.

ACCG Past President & Baldwin County Commissioner Speaks at Georgia Military College Patriot Day Ceremony

 

ACCG Past President and Baldwin County Commissioner Henry Craig was a guest speaker at the Georgia Military College Patriot Day Ceremony. Craig shared his personal experiences from 9/11 and beyond, highlighting the significance of patriotism and the preservation of history.

GCIP Intern Gets Hands-on Experience in Fayette County


Seth Eaton, a finance major at the University of Georgia, interned in Fayette County’s Assessor’s Office where he updated rural land values and building sketches. He was tasked with gathering data, analyzing land tracts, and ensuring appraisal records were accurate for the county’s new computer system.

Baldwin County Receives Unique $500,000 CHIP Grant from Georgia DCA

Baldwin County, the sole recipient of an owner-occupied $500,000 Community Home Investment Program (CHIP) grant, will utilize funds to rehabilitate six homes on its south side. This funding, along with significant private investment, is expected to further drive revitalization efforts in the area.

ACCG Governmental Affairs Team Honors Sen. Chuck Hufstetler with a Legislative Service Award

ACCG Associate Director of Governmental Affairs Dante Handel presented Sen. Chuck Hufstetler with a Legislative Service Award during the recent Floyd County Commission meeting. Hufstetler was recognized for sponsoring House Bill 581, the comprehensive property and sales tax reform package of 2024. 

ACCG Director of Governmental Affairs Speaks at Conference of Southern County Associations


ACCG Director of Governmental Affairs Todd Edwards moderated a session on legislative issues and challenges during the Conference of Southern County Associations (CSCA) annual meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas. CSCA provides an opportunity for the officers, directors, and staffs of 15 southeastern state county associations to share mutual policy concerns, while offering a platform for information exchange and staff development.
