Fulton County Tests New Voting Machines in Mock Election
Approximately 700 voters across Fulton County participated in a mock election on Tuesday, giving the county's registration and elections team an opportunity to train and test their processes in advance of the upcoming Presidential Preference Primary. Fulton County Commissioner and ACCG Board Member Liz Hausmann (pictured front left) has assisted in the deployment of new voting machines as a representative of the Secretary of State's office as the local county government liaison.
Colquitt County Strategy Sessions
Tim Powers, Colquitt County Chamber Chairman and Market President of Ameris Bank, shared his vision for addressing childhood literacy at a recent meeting with community leaders. This issue, along with workforce development and poverty, were identified as key concerns impacting economic development and civic well-being. ACCG is facilitating the development of a strategic plan on behalf of the Colquitt County BOC and the Moultrie-Colquitt County Development Authority.
Forsyth County Meets
with State Leadership
Forsyth County commission members made the most of their hometown connections during a visit to the Capitol, spending time with Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan, who lives in their community. Senator Greg Dolezal organized meetings for them with Governor Brian Kemp, GDOT Commissioner Russell McMurry and EPD Director Rick Dunn and Assistant Director Lauren Curry. Representatives Marc Morris, Sheri Gilligan and Todd Jones joined them as well.

Takes Top Honors
Congratulations to Jackson County Emergency Services for recognition this week as Georgia's 2019 EMS Service of the Year. This award, given by the Georgia EMS Association, recognizes outstanding professionalism on the local, regional, and state levels, as well as service to the community.

Valentine's Day was busy at the Newton County courthouse as probate and magistrate court judges officiated 57 weddings.
 
Fall in Love with the 2020 Census in Chattahoochee County
The Chattahoochee County Complete Count Committee (C5), in partnership with Chattahoochee Family Connection, organized a "Fall In Love with the 2020 Census" lunch and learn session to help increase awareness about the Census in a hard to count population.
