Back to school safety
School is back in session and here are a few friendly reminders from Safe Streets with Shelly. Roads and bus routes are busier, so letβs all do our part to keep students safe.
- Students β listen to crossing guards, look both ways, use crosswalks and stay alert by putting distractions like headphones or phones away while crossing
- Drivers β slow down in school and Community Safety Zones (30β40 km/h), stop for buses with flashing red lights, yield at crosswalks and plan for extra traffic
Shelly says, βSlow and steady wins the race β and keeps everyone safe! Leave extra time for your morning, lunchtime and afternoon commutes.β Find more safety tips at georgina.ca/SafeStreets.
