Welcome to Gerardo Pinedo, our new Chief Administrator

I’m very pleased that the board has approved the hiring of Gerardo Pinedo as new County Administrator, effective June 22, replacing interim administrator Chad Rinde. Special thanks to Chad for his inspirational leadership and hard work during the interim period.

Mr. Pinedo has 26 years of experience at the local, state, and federal levels of government, including high-profile management and leadership positions at the County of Los Angeles. He has also taught public policy courses at California State University at Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). Mr. Pinedo earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Administration degrees from CSUDH and a law degree from Southwestern University School of Law.

Gerardo's family immigrated from Mexico to the United States during the 1960s and labored as farm workers throughout the state of California. Gerardo is a brilliant but humble man with the leadership experience, government background and people skills to excel as our county administrator. We are lucky to have him.

COVID-19 Memorial Planning and Fundraising Underway

The Davis Cemetery District is planning a permanent COVID-19 memorial, featuring a walking path, art, seating/reflection space, and landscaping. Visitors will walk along a path through five pillars artistically designed to represent those lost to the virus. The path will end at a reflection area. Signs along the path will describe our community’s strength and resiliency. For more information, to support, and to offer comments: http://daviscemetery.org/covid-19-memorial-installation/
