The seven German Chamber offices and the Washington, DC liaison office, together with KPMG, survey more than 1,900 German subsidiaries in the United States on their views of the US as an investment location.

The results will be exclusively presented and discussed during our panel discussion at DEUTSCHE BANK in lower Manhattan on January 29.

Marie Royce, Assistant Secretary of State for Education & Cultural Affairs
For many years, the GACC has been a member of The Alliance for International Exchange, - the leading collective public policy voice of the exchange and J-1 visa community.

In late October, three of our GACC team members attended The Alliance annual conference in Washington. This conference has grown in scope and importance over 25 years, this time featuring over 300 attendees and 60 US government representatives. It offers a unique chance for J-1 visa sponsors to share best practices, ask questions and consult one-on-one with regulators and State Department analysts on the intern and trainee programs.

Matthew Allen, incoming Director of Career Services, and Senior Manager Cindy Klarwasser agreed with their colleague Chris Gallagher in noting that "The Alliance annual conference has become the central gathering place in the country for thought leaders and policy makers on all things J-1 visa each year. As an intern and trainee sponsor, our programs are enhanced by what we learn here."

Tom Dzimian Bids Farewell to GACC after 27 yrs of Service!
What do the GACC Career Services Director and German ICE trains have in common? Both have been instrumental in improving Germans' mobility since the spring of 1991!

At the end of this year, the German American Chamber of Commerce New York will be saying goodbye to Thomas Dzimian, Director of Career Services, as he is set to retire after 27 years of service.

Tom was hired by the Chamber in April of 1991, the same year that Germany introduced its iconic ICE trains. While the trains continue to serve the German public, Tom will retire after having led the chamber's highly regarded J-1 visa program - the key to thousands of transatlantic exchanges -- for over a quarter century.
