BOOK REVIEW!
It's nice to get book recommendations, especially good books about dogs! We asked one of our volunteers to read a book and write a review.

If you have any dog books you love, let us know! Drop us an email at: newsletter@gsrnc.org

Telling Lies by L.A. Dobbs is the first in the Sam Mason K9 Dog Mystery series.  Lucy is a street-smart GSD mix in the fictional town of White Rock, NH. An escapee from the local animal shelter, Lucy has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. A missing person case turns into homicide when Lucy finds a body in the river. Her keen observational skills lead her to the clues needed to put the killer behind bars. The town's police chief, Sam Mason, recognizes Lucy's crime-solving skills and wants to make her a permanent member of his team. Despite the predictable plot, this cozy mystery is a delightful afternoon read. Our reviewer gives it a rating of four out of five bones.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
The story of the "Rainbow Bridge" is a staple of comfort when a beloved pet passes on. It's on sympathy cards, grave markers, shared by veterinarians and any number of other places. But where did it originate? We found a fascinating article that explains how it began.
