On October 7, 2023, that belief collapsed.

In the wake of the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, I was horrified when many of my progressive peers refused to condemn Hamas’ violence. Some even celebrated it as “resistance.” Overnight, the identities I once embraced seamlessly were now in terrible conflict with each other.

I began to question: Is it still possible to remain both Jewish and progressive?

Why the JCRC Youth Fellowship is exactly what our teens need right now

We’ve spent years teaching about Jewish identity, community, and the challenges—and joys—of raising proud Jewish children in a complex world. Celebrating the historic document that lives on in an enduring partnership between Catholics and Jews

We are working closely with colleagues from the Catholic community on our upcoming Nostra Aetate 60th Anniversary commemoration featuring Rabbi Abraham Skorka. We encourage you to register and attend the event.

We also will be teaching about Nostra Aetate in Catholic schools during the 2025-26 school year. We are currently in collaboration with our Catholic colleagues and hoping for a robust teaching schedule.
