Medicaid open enrollment event at GBUAHN
YourCare Health Plan will host a week-long open enrollment event at GBUAHN from Monday, December 10 - Friday, December 14, 2018. 

From 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day, YourCare will have facilitated enrollers on-site to help individuals apply for free or low-cost health insurance plans like Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus, and the Essential Plan. 

Refreshments and giveaways will be available to those who apply for coverage. GBUAHN will be offering $10 worth of healthy groceries to those who enroll with YourCare! 
Those who enroll on or before December 15, 2018 will have health insurance coverage beginning January 1, 2019.
YourCare introduces new member incentive for completing primary care provider (PCP) visit
Be Better Benefits, the YourCare Health Plan member incentive program, has expanded! Now, each eligible YourCare member can earn $25 for completing his/her annual visit with a primary care provider (PCP). Visiting your primary care provider is so important when it comes to maintaining your health and wellness. Annual visits are important because he or she can help identify any health problems you may be having, and can also help you develop a great relationship with your doctor. This new incentive joins six other great member offers, such as $25 for completing a mammogram and $25 for completing a colon cancer screening. YourCare members can earn up to $150 in rewards per year, if eligible for the incentives included in the program. 

Members must have completed their PCP visits on or after November 1, 2018 to be eligible for the 2018 reward; however, this incentive will continue into 2019, as well.

Health now using MEDENT for face-to-face patient and care coordinator visits.
G-Health Enterprises has teamed up with its electronic health record MEDENT, to make face-to-face meetings between its members and patient health navigators (PHNs) easier. Utilizing a telehealth system through MEDENT, GBUAHN members can schedule a time to meet with their patient health navigators digitally. Through the MEDENT patient portal, video-visits are scheduled to accommodate a smart phone or laptop (or desktop) computer. Once the meeting time is set up, the member and patient health navigator will be able to engage in a face to face interaction from remote locations.

“Having this connection through MEDENT directly to our GBUAHN members is another fantastic way G-Health is tearing down barriers to care created by the social determinants of health,” said Raul Vazquez, M.D., chief executive officer of G- Health Enterprises. “Now, members have the power right in their hands to schedule face-to-face contacts with their PHNs, and they won’t have to deal with barriers such as finding transportation and child care.”

Through the use of MEDENT telehealth capabilities and other innovative strategies, G-Health Enterprises will be able to address the social determinants of health and clinical needs with a 360-degree approach.

Healthy Holiday Recipe – Holiday Salsa
  • 1 package (12 ounces) fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • Assorted crackers or tortilla chips

  • Pulse cranberries and sugar in a food processor until coarsely chopped. Stir together with onions, cilantro and jalapeno. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
  • To serve, place cream cheese on a serving plate. Drain salsa; spoon over cream cheese. Serve with crackers or chips.
