Managing Drop-down Lists in GAGEtrak 7
Drop-down lists in GAGEtrak, such as the
field in the
Gages -> Information
tab, can sometimes become cluttered with duplicates, misspellings or other unnecessary entries:
In GAGEtrak 7, it's a breeze to clean up these lists.
Setup -> Dropdown List Management
and locate the record for the list you want to modify:
In the example above, row 4 contains a misspelled value (Inspectoin). Click the grey box to the left of that value to select it. From the
. The following alert will appear:
In this instance, click
Select New Status
window will open. Select
to replace the value you are deleting:
and then close the window. The misspelled value has now been replaced with the accurate value throughout all records.
If you are an administrator and you would like to lock the list to prevent future incorrect entries, you would select
Cannot add items
If, on the other hand, you would like to allow for list additions, but you'd like the user to be prompted to confirm the action (for the sake of double-checking spelling, for instance), you would instead select
Ask to add items
