Dear AmeriSpec Owners:


Our partnership with Eagle Merchant is an exciting opportunity to stand alone as our own company outside of the ServiceMaster umbrella for the first time in a long while. The team and I are working hard to continue to support you and deliver on programs that help your business during this process.


To give you an update, we're currently working through several Transactional Service Agreements we negotiated with ServiceMaster in IT, HR, Finance, Systems, Legal, and more. The transition on those agreements will generally take up to 90 days. As for logistics, the team and I will continue to operate from our home in the Memphis Training Center. Please take a moment to read the news release below for additional information. 


The Franchise Council is traveling to Memphis next week. I'm looking forward to spending time together working on important projects and improvements to our system during these challenging real estate times.


We're also working to kick off our return to annual conventions with a big event scheduled in September. We’ve sent requests for proposals out to hotels and hope to have one selected and a date set by the end of April. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information coming soon!

Get Key Takeaways From AmeriSpec's Canadian Energy Advisors 'Refresher' Meeting

AmeriSpec held an in-person meeting on April 12 for all energy advisors in Canada. The meeting focused on aligning new and experienced energy advisors on the AmeriSpec data collection and data collection form process. Topics included pony walls, foundations, heat pumps, PV systems, water heaters and more.


Key meeting takeaways included:


  • The pre retrofit and post retrofit data collection forms have been updated to clarify required information
  • A reminder of required photographs
  • And a demo on using the ccASHP and PV system azimuth calculator spreadsheets provided by NRCan

Improve Team Meetings With These Tips From AmeriSpec's Lance Ellis and James Parra

BDC William Hawkins recently had the privilege of meeting with AmeriSpec co-owners Lance Ellis and James Parra in Albuquerque, NM. He was impressed with their operations and how they conducted team meetings.


As a result, you'll find some of their of top tips here:

1. Set a goal for your team meeting: Think about your business goals and how your employees can help you achieve that success. Try to incorporate at least one technical aspect into every meeting. For example, James and Lance's team learned all about Orangeburg piping at one of their meetings and how to spot it.


2. Get ASHI credits for your team meetings: If you're hosting these meetings, why not get ASHI credits for your inspectors?


3. Choose the right location: Lance held it at his house and made an awesome home cooked lunch!


4. Collaborate on a team meeting agenda: Your team might have some things that they’d like to discuss as a group.


5. Discuss marketing and asking for reviews: There are opportunities for both sales and customer reviews. Consider doing a fun related role play activity at your meeting.


6. Stick to your agenda: Prepare the agenda of main points beforehand and pass it out at the meeting.
