BACK TO THE CLASSROOM WITH CABLE
|
|
There’s not a hint of fall in the Texas weather, but already students are preparing to head back to school for a new year.
Some – for the first time – will be able to log on to a computer to complete their homework. Others will be attending college thanks to scholarships. Younger children will have school supplies and other equipment they need to learn in the classroom.
While cable is known for its initiatives to expand broadband access, the industry’s commitment to education is about so much more.
“Being a strong local community partner is central to Sparklight's purpose and values,” said Trish Niemann, vice president, communications strategy, at Sparklight. “We have a personal stake in improving the communities we serve. Through educational programs and donations of time and resources, we seek to make a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
