CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH
Since the pandemic, cable has been working with new and expanded Texas and federal programs to get more Americans on the internet. But the cable industry’s priority not only is for consumers to gain broadband access, it also wants to keep them safe once they get online.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month, every October, is a collaboration between government and private industry to raise awareness about digital security and empower everyone to protect their personal data from digital forms of crime.

Learn what you can do, and what cable companies are doing on your behalf.
FOWLER JOINS TCA STAFF
Texas Capitol veteran Meredyth Fowler has joined the staff of the Texas Cable Association (TCA) as general counsel. She also will be part of TCA’s governmental affairs team, which includes TCA President Walt Baum and Ryan Weiseman, legislative director.

“The Texas Cable Association is fortunate to welcome someone with Meredyth’s depth of public affairs experience to our team,” said TCA President Walt Baum. “Her broad-based background working issues from both inside and outside of the Capitol will be valuable as we educate and deliver the Texas cable industry’s messages to policymakers.”
OFFICIALS RECEIVE BROADBAND AWARDS
Texas Broadband Now has recognized elected officials who are committed to raising awareness and promoting solutions to ensure every Texan has access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet connectivity. Trent Ashby for their work on House Bill 5 during the 87th Legislature. Other recipients include Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Speaker Dade Phelan.

Texas Broadband Now, which launched in September, is a diverse coalition formed to promote the expansion of broadband infrastructure to underserved and unserved communities across the entire state.
CABLE CONTINUES TO CONNECT
