PG&E customers with Enphase batteries will soon be able to participate in the Energy Load Reduction Program (ELRP) in a virtual power plant (VPP) program in which they are able to earn extra money by allowing PG&E to use their batteries to support the grid. These are very valuable programs that turn your batteries into revenue generators.
The preliminary details of the program provide $2 per kWh if discharged during peak times. Homeowners will be notified about ELRP events and can choose to participate or not. It is currently predicted that this will be 23 to 60 hours per year, but it is expected that with increased demand on the grid, these times will increase.
Customers will be notified by Enphase in their Enphase app when available and can enroll if they wish. This is independent of the NEM 1,2, or 3 programs and is in addition to the NEM agreement.
We are very excited about this program as another benefit to customers with
Enphase batteries!
