Taekwondo Lesson of the Month:
Mindfulness & Momentum
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness means paying attention to what you’re doing right now—not rushing, not distracted, not thinking about what’s next.
In class, that looks like:
- Eyes on your instructor
- Listening the first time
- Giving your full effort on every move
At home or school, it’s:
- Finishing what you start
- Staying focused even when it’s hard
- Being aware of your actions and choices
What is Momentum?
Momentum is what happens when you keep going—even when it’s tough.
It’s:
- Showing up on days you don’t feel like it
- Trying again after you mess up
- Pushing through one more rep, one more drill, one more class
Momentum builds over time. Small efforts stack into big results.
The hardest part is starting… but once you build momentum, it carries you forward.
For Our Families:
You can reinforce this at home by encouraging:
- Focus over perfection
- Effort over outcome
- Consistency over motivation
Try asking:
- “What did you focus on in class today?”
- “What was something hard that you didn’t quit on?”
These small conversations build big habits.
