JUST 4 FUN
DID YOU KNOW?
The word Lent comes from the Old English word lencten, which means spring. Lent is a season of spiritual preparation for Easter. For centuries, Christians have observed fasting, prayer, and almsgiving during this season to unite themselves with Christ and prepare for Easter Sunday.

As you begin your Lenten practices, prayerfully consider making a gift to the Miraculous Medal Shrine. Your donation ensures the Shrine remains a place for people to come and experience her tender help, peace, and intercession.

It’s not too late to submit your Lenten prayer intentions to The Miraculous Medal Shrine, which will remain at Mary’s Altar until Easter. You can also give an Easter card to a loved one , and the Vincentians will pray for them and their intentions from Easter through Pentecost.

SHOP CATHOLIC
The Miraculous Medal Shrine’s Gift Shop offers a variety of religious products, cards, books, and mementos.
SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
This month we'd like to hear your thoughts about your previous Lenten experiences. What was your most memorable Lent? Was there something you did—or didn't do—that made a huge impact on your spiritual life?
In last month's inSPIRE , we asked you how your Catholic faith and devotion to Mary has played a pivotal role in your times of loss or need. Here are just a few of your comments:

  • It has given me the strength to carry onto keep going and have the faith that things will get better and that no matter what, I am not alone. I don't have to do this all by myself. ~ Anonymous

  • Yes, it helped me a lot. I always feel the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mother Mary in so many ways. She is showing her maternal love to me through other people. ~ John A., Mokena, IL

  • Saying the rosary, without fail, gives me peace in times of crisis, confusion, hurt, or sadness. Each mystery provides answers that give me strength. Praying intercessory rosaries for others brings them closer to me. My grandmother taught me to pray the rosary, and my Mother offered many rosaries for me; now I do the same for family and friends. ~ Mary F., Nazareth, PA
