Opening a World of Opportunity for our Students

Hello Cristo Rey Miami Family,

As we approach the end of Cristo Rey Miami High School's groundbreaking founding school year, I am so proud of how our students have grown academically, professionally, and personally. I speak for the entire team when I say our hearts are full to see the work ethic of our students and their desire to succeed. With your support, we will continue this growth as we catapult the momentum into a second school year and a growing school family.

We're excited to share that a group of our students were invited to attend the premier Tech conference, eMerge Americas, accompanied by Board Trustee Rudy Cecchi and School Counselor Samara Quinones where they participated in various sessions, including Tom Brady's keynote address and one-on-one time with City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and other community leaders. We are grateful for these experiences that complement our rigorous academic and professional development, unleashing our students' potential and transforming their opportunities.

In the next few weeks, our students are looking forward to building so many more memories, including:

  • Participating in a community beach clean-up at Haulover Beach.
  • Attending our School Formal: A Night at the Masquerade.
  • Making their year-end presentations to the leadership teams of each Corporate Work Study partner.
  • Celebrating their artistic talents at our Inaugural "Night of the Arts" showcase.
  • Recognizing their academic and professional accomplishments at the End of Year Awards Ceremony.

On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff - thank you! This good work is only possible because of your support. We invite you to join us for a tour or Lunch & Learn to see our campus for yourself while there's still time before the last day of school! Email Katherine Connell, kconnell@cristoreymiami.org to schedule a time for your visit.

With a grateful heart,

Anamarie Moreiras

President, Cristo Rey Miami High School

Student Spotlight

Anthony C.

"My favorite part of Cristo Rey is the Corporate Work Study Program because it allows me to meet new people and gain work experience. I currently work at AT&T, which is perfect for me because my dream is to become a Software Engineer.

Watching the sales reps making calls has opened my eyes to the importance of building meaningful connections with people and making a good first impression. I know these skills will be useful because I plan to apply to MIT, which is a highly competitive school; having strong communication skills will help me stand out from other applicants."

Community Partner Spotlight

Did you know at the end of this school year, 29 Cristo Rey Miami freshmen will have earned three college credits? Incredible accomplishments like this are possible because of our strong network of University partners.

Earlier this month, Cristo Rey Miami President Anamarie Moreiras visited Miami-Dade College to meet with President Madeline Pumariega. We look forward to continuing to deepen our partnership with local community organizations to ensure Cristo Rey Miami students are college-ready and career-prepared.
