Helson Gallery


Experience this year’s annual local artist exhibition celebrating water in all its forms: its life-giving power, its ability to shape landscapes, and its role in connecting communities. The exhibition explores the importance of waterways such as the Credit River, whose enduring influence has flowed through generations–shaping Indigenous ways of life, early settlement, industry, recreation, and ongoing conservation efforts.

Mayor's Choice Award Announced


Congratulations to J. Andrew Hillman, winner of the Mayor's Choice Award. The award was announced at the opening reception of The Colour of Water exhibition on March 22 for the mixed-media work, Bridge Over Credit River.


In recognition of this achievement, Hillman will receive an honorarium, and his work will be featured on a a limited-edition tote bags produced in partnership with Halton Hamilton Brant Regional Tourism Organization, Visit Halton Hills and the Helson Gallery.

Norval Studios and Gallery

Upper and Lower Sisnett Lobby


Join Norval Studios and Gallery as the artist cooperative celebrates its third anniversary through an exhibition in the Upper and Lower Sisnett Lobby. For the past three years, the group has created and operated out of the historic St. Paul's Anglican Parish Hall in Norval, a charming heritage building once frequented by author Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Mayor’s Showcase featuring local artist Chris Cachia


Town Hall


View the work of Chris Cachia, who blends everyday realism with dreamlike, fantastical elements, drawing inspiration from magical realism and contemporary illustration styles. Working in mixed media and photography, Cachia often explores landscapes and popular culture, creating images that blur the line between reality and imagination.

Led by youth, for youth, members will meet monthly to organize events. Have fun, earn volunteer hours, learn from local artists, meet new friends, and have an impact on youth services and programs throughout town.

Helson Gallery Programs

Plein Air Painting Challenge at the Downtown Georgetown Farmers Market


June 13, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Register in advance for our first plein air challenge of the year at the Downtown Georgetown Farmers Market! 


Artists will paint within the lively market or explore the surrounding side streets and nearby parks. Downtown Georgetown offers a wide variety of subjects to inspire. Award winners will be announced in the afternoon.


The Helson Gallery presents this event in partnership with Norval Studios & Gallery, Credit Valley Artisans, and the Downtown Georgetown Farmers Market.

The Town of Halton Hills is in the final stages of commissioning a public artwork that will function as seating within the soon-to-be completed Tolton Park in Limehouse. In January, a selection panel reviewed over 60 applications from across Canada and identified a short-list of 3 artists to develop site-specific artwork proposals. The Town is pleased to share these proposals for public comment and information.

Learning Opportunities
