L'dor V'dor Sculpture
Fundraising Event in Support of
Jewish Family Services
Above, is Past President Dr. Doug Barton's artwork, L'dor V'dor. Doug carved the above sculpture from Indiana Limestone. The piece is to be purchased by the community to display at the Jewish Federation with all proceeds being donated to Jewish Family Services.
Doug Barton and the Jewish Federation invite you to donate toward the purchase of Doug’s sculpture, L’dor V'dor, for the local Jewish community. This is a unique community-wide purchase of this piece of art, with all proceeds benefitting JFS.

We welcome your participation in this collective fundraising effort with a gift of any size in multiples of Chai: $18, $36, $54, $72, $90, ...$180, and beyond.

L'dor V'dor sculpture donations will be accepted through Thanksgiving.

All proceeds support the important work of JFS.

Please help us purchase the L’dor V'dor sculpture to secure a piece of Doug's Judaic art for the Jewish Federation's community building, a structure that was built and dedicated during Doug's Federation presidency.

Temple B’nai Shalom
Benton Harbor, Michigan
Food Drive/Non-Food Drive!
Starts September 13
12:30 p.m.—2:30 p.m.
Our food/non-food drive we conduct every year in conjunction with the High Holidays will be a bit different this year.

What will not change is that kosher food and certain other items will go to the Federation's Jewish Family Services food pantry. Non-kosher food and other items will go to the Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank. We also will accept cash and gift cards for food and gasoline (Meijer, Martin’s Super Markets, Family Dollar, etc.), which go to JFS.

We will have curbside drop-off service at Temple – 2050 Broadway, Benton Harbor, MI - on Sunday, Sept. 13 (12:30-2:30 p.m.) Please bring your food and non-food donations. A volunteer will take your donations from your vehicle.
In addition to food, JFS needs paper towels, plates and napkins; tissues; plastic wrap and storage bags; laundry detergent (pods preferred); dish washing liquid; disposable aluminum baking pans (9x13 preferred)’ toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and conditioner.

In addition to food, the West Michigan Food Bank needs baby items, including diapers and baby food, plus hygiene items including toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet paper.

Last year, we collected 89 pounds of items that went to the Food Bank and a slightly larger amount, plus the gift cards, went to Jewish Family Services. With the need much greater this year, let us try to exceed what we collected in 2019.
