Funding Opportunity for Peer-Led Campaigns Supporting Mental Health: Applications due October 14
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is inviting middle and high school student leadership groups and clubs to implement peer-led campaigns to increase awareness of suicide prevention, reduce mental health stigma, and promote school and community mental health resources on school campuses. Using a Project Based Learning model, student groups will develop and implement schoolwide activities reaching a large portion of the student body, parents, and staff.

One advisor must be involved, and a minimum of 10 students must serve as peer leaders and participate in the development and implementation of the campaign. Peer leaders will receive training and attend a facilitated discussion with OCDE staff.

OCDE will provide training, materials, resources, and a $1,200.00 advisor incentive. All Orange County public, private and charter schools are eligible to apply. Applications are being accepted through October 14, 2022.
