Neighborhood Tree Walks
Canopy’s Tree Walk program consists of neighborhood tree walk routes throughout Palo Alto, Mountain View, East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park. The tree walks are a wonderful opportunity to spend time outdoors and enjoy the life-giving benefits of trees.

Staff Updates
Welcoming New Canopy Team Members
We’re excited to introduce you to two new Canopy staff members! Please join us in welcoming...
Christie Galitsky, Senior Programs Director
Christie brings a wealth of experience in environmental conservation, scientific research, and collaborative team management. At Canopy, she’ll oversee our three core program areas—trees, education, and advocacy—finding opportunities to deepen community partnerships and achieve greater collective impact in these changing times. Stay tuned for a full intro to Christie soon!

Christie takes the helm from former Tree Program Director Elise Willis, who said goodbye this summer to pursue a master's degree focused on urban forestry at the University of Florida. We can’t wait to hear about Elise’s research and next adventure!
Arlene Nuñez García, Community Forestry Coordinator
Arlene has a passion for environmental restoration, community-building, and connecting people with nature. At Canopy, she’ll manage Canopy’s Branching Out programs, partnering with residents in East Palo Alto, Belle Haven, and North Fair Oaks to grow local urban forests.
Arlene takes over from Maya Briones, who is starting graduate school this fall and transitioning to a part-time role as Canopy’s Advocacy Associate. We’re so grateful that Maya will remain part of our team!
