The Artist In Winter
Painting by John Lane

I painted part of the day today, while it was snowing continually: you would have laughed to see me entirely white, my beard covered in icy stalactites.
– Claude Monet
Artspan artists capture the snow that quietly falls and settles on the earth defining all we see. Enjoy!
Myles Cavanaugh

Swan Street In Snow

Myles has followed in a long line of Bucks County area Impressionist Artists who have owned the snow scene. When viewing this work as with his painting above, Train Bridge, you feel like grabbing your scarf.

"I strive to create beauty in my work, focusing on purity, emotion and instinct; balancing between aesthetics and technique. Bringing forth a sense of feeling and tangibility to my work. My goal is to create paintings that breathe life."
Alison Chambers

Snowfall Rozengracht

Alison's artwork stems from an emotional response to a place: London (where she was born) always fascinates her, as well as cities in general.

"Often I’ll be looking down – a link to the feeling of being an observer, and maybe something of an outsider."

The transformative power of snow currently interests her – especially after a recent trip to Northern Sweden.
Edward Buonvecchio

Iced In Rockport

Plein air painting has been an extension of Eds love for nature and the outdoors. It is always an adventure and challenge to him.

"The more I paint outdoors the more intimate I become with our Earth and the more I can share this intimacy and value for our environment with others."

.
Sheila Sugerman

Snow Shadows

"When painting a scene that has deeply touched me, it is my hope that it will stir memories and emotions in the viewer who can then personalize that scene and make it his or her own place.  The ever-present challenge for me as an artist is to be able to capture and interpret the incredible beauty of our earth and the fascinating people on it."
Pat Koscienski

Dan's Winter Barn

Since fine art painting became her full-time job. Pats favorite subjects are landscapes, portraits, wildlife, pets, and still life; oil, acrylic and pastel are her favorite mediums.

Style and works range from realism, impressionism, and abstraction. She paints area scenes and landscapes on location (plein air) and travels to paint in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

R J Clark

Snowfall

RJ Clark began producing and exhibiting art in the 70's and since that time has explored a variety of drawing and painting techniques always incorporating intense detail and exacting composition. His work is realistic, often photo-realistic, and ranges from finely detailed pencil sketches and watercolors to large format oil paintings on linen and canvas.
Peter Sterbach

Mariposa Snowfall

"When I take photographs, my joy and excitement stem from capturing a moment and a mood in all of its freshness, poignancy, beauty, and wonder. As a professional musician, I have come to appreciate and uphold the notion that "timing is everything." For me, that also applies to photography--and, indeed, to life. My photos capture what is real and true for me in the moment. That's why I call my collection and my approach "First Impressions."

Donald Schoenleber

Just A Dusting

Don Schoenleber thinks of photography as an accumulative experience, a never ending journey of refinement. The more he works at it the more he sees the world around him. It makes him slow down and appreciate the subtleties, the time of day and the color of the light. Early morning is his first choice. Its warm, soft directional light helps bring out the form and texture of the landscape.

An End Of Year Message From Artspan's Founder, Eric Sparre
I would like to start by wishing all of our members and their families a very Happy Holiday Season,
It was an exciting year for Artspan and our members. We know you want to sell more artwork so we reimagined the Marketplace and introduced key upgrades to help you. We have been and continue to make considerable investments and upgrades to the Marketplace, for both art buyers and our artist sellers, so that the Marketplace is more streamlined and secure.

The Marketplace is a valuable part of your package, and we encourage all members to participate with as much artwork as your plan allows. Simply click on the Feature in Marketplace icon your Control Panel, or on each artwork you want to include (remember to add price and dimensions). By placing your artwork in front of the buyers browsing the Marketplace you have the opportunity to sell and to also drive more buyers to your websites.

We want to do all we can to help you sell your artwork and build your careers by making the Marketplace as varied and interesting as we can for buyers. We need your help (and art) to make that happen. We are currently seeing some terrific Marketplace growth!

In addition, we are implementing more ways to share with you our knowledge of the many facets of artist marketing. After 22 years serving artists, we know a few things.

And now, for the upgrades…

For Artist Sellers
Customer Discounts and Gift Cards. Artist members will be able to offer discounts and special sales to collectors. Coupon codes and gift cards that members can create for their customers.
Upgraded Control Panel (even easier to use than the current version)
Artist control over shipments worldwide with tracking links for UPS, FedEx, etc
Coming by years end… Artspan will pay all sales taxes due (in the U.S. and Canada) – state, local, etc. – you will no longer have to worry about this.
Security. Major upgrades to prevent fraud to make Artspan the most secure marketplace, giving you and your buyers confidence and peace of mind.
Live Design and Marketing Workshops. Artspan Workshop Series. Offering expert advice from guests along with Artspan’s own experts, we answer your marketing and design questions.

For Buyers and Collectors
AR Live Preview and Prints-on-Demand right in the marketplace, the same as on your individual websites. Patrons and collectors can continue to go directly to your sites. PoD is a great way to introduce new buyers to your work at a lower price point. Once familiar with your art, they will often become repeat buyers of you work. That was certainly my experience as an artist.
Site-Wide Checkout in the Marketplace. Making it even easier for anyone browsing the marketplace to buy your artwork. They will no longer need to go to individual artist's websites to complete the sale. Buyers will be able to now purchase from multiple artists and purchase original artwork and prints together!
Streamlined and easy check-out experience.
Major improvements to prevent fraud.
Buyers who don’t complete a sale receive an automatic reminder + link back to the partially completed check-out.

In 2020 Artspan suspended commissions on Marketplace sales to help our members during the pandemic. while there will still be no commission for artwork sold from individual websites (these are your customers) Artspan will resume our 12.9% commission (includes the processing fees for Visa, MC, Amex, Discover, Google and Apple Pay) on artwork sold through our Marketplace.

Note: We vet all sales, assist buyers when needed and respond to all questions. We will actively promote the Marketplace with two agency partners with recognized expertise in e-commerce sales.

We appreciate our members - your art and your support. And our community. We want to do our best to serve your needs and always welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

Happy Holidays Everyone! We are looking forward to a great New Year!
