Earth Day is nearly here!

Celebrate with your very own act of green: volunteer, enjoy the outdoors, visit the farmers' market, read one of these titles, watch a documentary, plant a tree or learn more about recycling.

Earth Day is next Thursday, April 22nd

Here are some ways to celebrate

Look for a way to take action:

Start a local clean-up day.
Volunteer for our local parks.
Take steps to help the ocean.
Create your own act of green.

Brush up on your recycling knowledge:

Spruce up your garden:

Green your landscape and improve your drainage by installing a rain garden. This guide will show you how.
For inspiration, check out the demonstration rain garden in front of the Public Works building.
Learn about gardening with native plants: borrow a book or check out the California Native Plant Society.

And be sure to swing by the Farmers Market on Thursday, April 22. Bring your food waste for composting, pick up some local produce and stop by the Sustainable Carmel table for a free reusable produce bag!
