Get Ready for Middle School Graduation!

Good Afternoon Parents of 8th Grade Students,

We are looking forward to the year-end activities for our eighth grade class! Since graduation is close at hand, we would like to review dates, times and standards for this event.

8th Grade Graduation

Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00 pm*

Redwood Chapel Community Church (RCCC), Worship Center

19300 Redwood Road, Castro Valley

*Students need to be in the RCCC gymnasium no later than 5:30 pm

Graduation Attire

All 8th grade graduates will be wearing red graduation robes. If your student ordered a graduation robe, it will be sent home with them TODAY. Please note that middle school graduates are not permitted to wear anything over the robe (i.e., leis) except the CJSF gold cord if earned. The gold cords will be distributed at the graduation rehearsal on May 24. Please steam/press robes before graduation. Girls are to wear dresses under the robe with dress shoes. Boys are to wear game day dress which includes: dress shoes, dress socks, neatly pressed dress pants, a dress belt, a well-pressed dress shirt, and a tie.

Graduation Etiquette

We ask that everyone present maintain appropriate etiquette for our traditional, academic ceremony. The purpose of the ceremony is to honor the entire class. At the request of Redwood Chapel, balloons and noise makers may not be brought into the sanctuary. There will be no presentations to students on the stage except for their diplomas.

Graduation Photos

Lifetouch will be taking photos of each student receiving their diploma. Information for purchasing photos, if desired, will be handed out at middle school graduation practice or you can choose & order Lifetouch photos on their website.

May 20 - Last day of classes and yearbook distribution; dismissal at 11:30 am
May 24 - Academic & Athletic End of the Year Awards, 9:00 am, at RCCC Worship Center
May 24 - Middle School Graduation Rehearsal, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, RCCC Worship Center
May 24 - Redwood Christian Schools Middle School Graduation, 6:00 pm, RCCC Worship Center (students arrive at RCCC gymnasium at 5:30 pm)
