Update April 9th

This Sunday will be the 1st Sunday of Easter

This spring, starting April 19th, our worship will follow a new sermon series titled “Blessed,” inspired by the Beatitudes.

The series will invite us to hear Jesus’ vision of a life shaped by grace, mercy, peace, and hope. We’ will also take time to give thanks for God’s creation on Earth Day Sunday and celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. We hope you’ll join us as we listen for the gentle, yet transforming call of Jesus’ blessing in our lives and in our world.

The Trustees will be sponsoring a Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 18th at 8:30 AM.

Everyone is welcome to attend and help out-bring a rake! We have much winter debris on the property that needs to be cleaned up and removed.

The Wesley House Thrift Shop opened on Friday March 20. We welcomed over 70 new guests in our first two days! We're off to a great start!

The Shop is open Fridays and Saturdays 10am to 2pm.
If you haven't stopped in, you are missing a special treat! There are many unique treasures.

Volunteers are always needed.

If you haven't signed up or want more information, contact Cynthia Syverson Mercer @ Thriftshop@johnwesleyumc.org

Help us continue our mission to support the community. All revenues go to generate revenue for the missions and ministry of JWUMC.

We hope to see you soon!

Men’s Breakfast for April 18th – Change of Plans!!
The JW Trustees have scheduled a morning of work to clean up the church grounds on Saturday, April 18th.

So as not to compromise their effort, or short-change our MB presentation, I’ve decided to ask Men’s Breakfast participants to team up with the JW Trustees for a morning of work on the church property on Saturday, 4/18.

If you could give us at least one hour of your time and effort, we’d be grateful!

Please wear work clothes and bring work gloves and perhaps a rake or other yard tools. There will be coffee, donuts, muffins, fruit, yogurt and juice to enjoy before and during our work! We’ll plan to gather at 8:30 am in the upper parking lot of the church.

We have moved Steve Almy’s presentation on Cyber Security; How to Keep Yourself Safe! to Saturday, May 16th

If you have any questions, please reach out to Matt O’Connor at oconnorscapecod@gmail.com.

Women’s Breakfast on March 18th

To coordinate with the Men’s Breakfast this month, we will meet at the church at 8:30 am, and car pool to Persy’s.

When we get back to John Wesley, if you’d like to participate in workday, there will still be opportunities to help.

Our Wesley House Thrift Shop will also be open so you might even want to stop in and check on all the wonderful bargains.

Join us on Sunday, April 12th to learn more about the many ways you can get involved in worship!

An informational brochure will be available to help you explore each ministry area.

Changing our World for April is “Hope Cottage”. This is a program designed by Dr. Bella to help the girls rescued from Human trafficking to return to the community by helping them with life skills such as food preparation, sewing, cooking, hairdressing, gardening, etc. The girls must leave the Safe House at the age of 18 and return to the community. The girls spend the day at Hope Cottage learning how to re-enter the community. Dr. Bella is training these girls to be able to survive in the community. Thank you for all your contributions to all our Changing Our World programs.
