June is a transition month and we all know how hard transitions can be for our kids. Schedules are disrupted by a multitude of events meant to be an enjoyable way to mark the end of another academic year, but for kids on the spectrum and their families, often end up being stressful and disappointing. When we place an expectation of our child on the spectrum reacting to so many changes and noisy gatherings like their neurotypical peers we set them up for failure. So pick and choose which activities they should attend. It's OK to leave them at home with a respite provider so you can attend important events for their siblings and if you lack a provider, divide & conquer. In today's tech savvy world you can always video or go live on facebook so the at home parent can see the event in real time!
That being said, I want to encourage you all to look at the Events we have for the summer. Remember that when you come to our events they're a no judgement zone and you have the support of the Center community should you experience a difficult moment or hour. Connecting with others you can always leave siblings with a friend and give your child on the spectrum a break if need be! BTDT.
We know that the Ramblewild event is on Father's Day but what better way to celebrate than to enjoy a day together in an activity that will build self confidence, bond you together as a team and make memories for
a lifetime ? The price at $10 /pp is deeply discounted. Regular admission to the adventure park is $49/pp under age 12 and $57/pp ages 12 and older. This is the opportunity of a lifetime!
