Virtudent Brings the Dentist to You

Virtudent is changing the way consumers receive oral healthcare through their mobile dentistry service. In just a few short years, the Newton-based company has grown from an idea to a 17-person company. Co-founders Hitesh Tolani and John Voith aim to make dental care vastly more convenient by cutting out the hassle of actually going to the dentist. Rendever's Goal is Simple

Rendever realizes that, in an era where some Americans are feeling hyper-connected, some citizens are feeling more isolated than ever. Studies show that senior citizens face this problem more frequently than any group. While there is no simple solution, innovators like CEO Kyle Rand are developing new ways to help seniors stay connected. The Cambridge-based company’s goal is simple, yet critically important: to make seniors feel happier and less isolated. In Good Company: The Optimal Aging Challenge
Massachusetts is becoming a leading region for the development of aging-related technologies and for innovations focused on senior citizens and their caregivers. Earlier this month, Governor Charlie Baker announced In Good Company: The Optimal Aging Challenge a $20,000 competition to improve healthy aging in Massachusetts by leveraging the development of breakthrough technologies, community resources, and other solutions to reduce social isolation and loneliness, and increase engagement among older populations. The competition is being organized in collaboration with GE Healthcare, MIT’s AgeLab, Benchmark Senior Living, and the Governor’s Council to Address Aging in Massachusetts . PULSE Final Winners Announced
2018 Pulse Finale stage.
Six participants in the second year of the PULSE@MassChallenge program were awarded $230,000 in cash prizes at their year end gathering PULSE Finale. The winners were: Leuko, InsightRX, Fitly, Medumo, Multisensor Diagnostics, and Folia Health. The program also announced additional commitments and support from its partners. Digital Health Initiative Continues Support for
TechSpring Innovation Hub
The Massachusetts eHealth Institute at MassTech has awarded Baystate Health’s TechSpring innovation center in Springfield a new $80,000 grant to support the organization’s work to promote digital health startups in Western Massachusetts. This is the third award made to TechSpring by MeHI as part of its investments under the Massachusetts Digital Health Initiative , a public-private partnership launched in 2016 to strengthen the Commonwealth’s digital healthcare cluster and increase innovation in patient care.
