Rebecca Love is Trying to Fix the Nursing Shortage

A 2016 survey from the RN Network , showed that nearly half of current nurses are considering leaving the profession for a variety of reasons including exhaustion, burdensome paperwork, and not spending enough time with patients. Rebecca Love, Director of Nurse Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Northeastern University, founder of HireNurses.com and a nurse herself, is trying to address that with the Nurse Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative .

Meet Howard Bornstein, Founder & CEO of 2020 Onsite

In 2014, Howard Bornstein found himself tired of the time consuming hassle of going to the optometrist, so he set out to change the experience by creating 2020 Onsite. The Boston-based startup eschews the traditional brick and mortar storefront for a fully stocked and staffed optometrist-mobile that brings the doctor to patients.

MeHI & European Alliance Sign Partnership

The Massachusetts eHealth Institute at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MeHI) and the European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance) formed a new strategic partnership aimed at growing the digital health ecosystems in Massachusetts and Europe. The new agreement between MeHI and ECHAlliance will help advance collaboration and the exchange of ideas, and combine resources to drive the pursuit of real world digital solutions to address the world’s healthcare challenges.

Mass Digital Health Marketplace is Live

MeHI has launched the Mass Digital Health Marketplace. The Marketplace makes it simple for customers to find new digital health solutions and for digital health firms to find potential customers for their products and services. Whether your firm needs new software for managing your practice, a new device to improve your operations, or an app to better monitor patients, you will find it on the Marketplace. Digital health companies can use the Marketplace to explain their product and connect with potential customers.

Deadline for MassTech Intern Partnership Program is Approaching

Under MassTech's Intern Partnership Program, Massachusetts tech companies can be reimbursed for up to 50% of an intern's hourly wage up to $8 per hour for a total of $3,200/year per individual intern. Digital Health companies may apply for up to 3 interns per program period (this summer through Sept. 30, 2018). All interns must be compensated as employees, not contractors, with required payroll withholdings.
