There is no Music Without "U"
Give Big is Right Around the Corner
Did you know that there is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for saxophones? It turns out there is and our kids need it to practice as we return to school. Your support will make sure our kids have what they need the rest of this year and into next year. With your help, we purchase music, hire coaches, and provide the foundation for our fantastic arts programs. This year, our GiveBig goal is $5,000 and we need your help to make it happen.

There are two ways we can have a successful drive. First, please make a gift to support the BPA program. You can do that here. Second, share our BPA page on your socials – getting the word out on Facebook and Twitter. It’s a great way to easily get the word out to a broader community.

Ready for the next step? We need your help getting the word out. Please set up your own GiveBig fundraising page. Your personal emails to friends, family and potential supporters will cut through the digital clutter in their in-boxes. There is a space to share a personal story about why the performing arts matter to you and your family.

Help make this year’s campaign a success and support our incredible BPA programs.

Spring Awakening
Tickets Available Now
The nature of all teenagers is to question their parents. Back in 1890’s Germany, things were no different. Spring Awakening follows three teenagers in a small village who experience the dawn of their own sexuality. They inevitably awaken to both joy and pain, with little direction from the adults around them.

The original play from 1891 was so scandalous for addressing sex violence and suicide that it was not staged until 1906. This contemporary production was first staged on Broadway in 2006, with a rock soundtrack by Duncan Sheik.

The cast features 21 BHS students and the play is directed by Shawn M. Riley.

Performance Details

The performances will be live-streamed on May 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, and begin at 7:30 pm.
***Parental advisory due to subject matter***

Trigger Warning: The musical addresses adult and teenage themes, such as teen pregnancy, suicide, academic pressure, and social acceptance. During the run of the show there will be virtual talk-backs with mental health professionals. Look for meeting dates/times in this newsletter as we get closer to showtime.

Tickets are $25 and you will be sent a link to watch it on the evening you select.
