Book Fair Founder
Honored by Three Literary Organizations in October
Asadah Kirkland, founder of the Soulful Chicago Book Fair was honored for her contribution to Chicago's burgeoning literary expansion throughout the month of October.  She was first honored on the same stage as the lengendary Haki Madhubuti with a Literary Visionary Award from Books Ink Literary Services.  Constance Shabazz has graced Chicago's literary scene with her expertise for over a decade, making her recognition of Asadah highly appreciated. She was then honored at the Chicago Black Authors Network annual luncheon for her outstanding leadership in support of literary success. Equally exciting to her was the honoring of the two Soulful Chicago Book Fair essay contest winners at the same luncheon. Asadah is also an author and was awarded by Cider Enterprises Book Club Conference Call for being a featured author in their programming.  She was extremely humbled and grateful to these organizations for considering her to be an important part of such an amazing and inspiring movement.
